Prehistoric Farm Digging: Green Releases and Fossil Results
PlayersLast updated 2026-10-13
Equip a shovel, stand at a glowing dig site, hold M1 on PC and release when the meter enters green. Prehistoric Farm’s timing action helps fossil finding, but the original recordings still include fossil results, no fossil, cash and buried treasure. A green or Perfect result does not supply a fixed drop percentage or guarantee the fossil you need.
How to perform a dig
- Choose the island for your collection or material goal and equip a shovel that can work there. The published Triassic screenshot shows an orange site and the prompt M1 Hold to dig / Dig Site.
- Approach the site before holding the digging action. Watch the meter instead of judging success from the island’s appearance.
- Release in its green region, then read the result. Keep a named fossil if it belongs to an unfinished set; cash and treasure are different recorded outcomes, rather than proof that the set advanced.
- Open Fossils to review collection progress. Ricoko’s guide uses the green/combinable state, and the October 5 first-play session reaches Ready to extract DNA. Return to Home’s DNA Lab when your selected collection is ready.
Digging for upgrade materials
| Material | Where the guides place it | Known use |
|---|---|---|
| Aquamarine Shards | Cambrian Island rocks | Five for Silver Shovel |
| Red Jasper | Devonian Island rocks | Eight for Silver Shovel |
| Desert Topaz | Triassic Island rocks | Twenty for Titanium Shovel |
| Jungle Emerald | Jurassic Island rocks | Twenty for Titanium Shovel |
| Dunkleosteus Shards | Devonian rocks with Silver or better | Twelve make Kai’s batch of three unhatched eggs |
These are the supplied recipe quantities, not drop odds or the number of digs needed. Silver or better is the stated tool for Triassic rocks and Clara’s 70-rock objective. Titanium is needed for Panthalassa’s Sea Egg shard rocks. Enter what you already own in the material deficit planner before buying an upgrade twice or collecting beyond your chosen recipe.
What to do when the result is not a fossil
Jurassic Dinoz’s October 5 session alternates fossils, empty results, money and buried treasure. Keep digging the relevant collection rather than treating one empty result as a broken DNA recipe. No exact treasure contents, cash payout or green-timing multiplier were supplied for those scenes. If the island’s material goal needs a stronger shovel, work on its known recipe instead of assuming more attempts bypass the tool condition.
The older progression guide associates Wooden with Cambrian, Bronze with Devonian, Silver with Triassic, Iron with Jurassic and Titanium with Cretaceous. Later guides add Pacific and discuss Forgotten, so that five-tool ladder is a dated subset. For a dinosaur, continue to Dr. Ivy and egg exchange. For a flying pet, see Clara’s fishing, rock and Coin sequence; for ocean shards, use the Kai and Yara route.
What is the fastest way to dig fossils?
Equip the tool that works on your target island, stand at the glowing site, hold M1 and release in green. This is the demonstrated action, not a measured optimal farming rate. For comparable work, Pacific’s reported 1.2× speed against Titanium gives a time model of Titanium seconds divided by 1.2: 30 becomes 25. Its access excludes Late Cretaceous. No exact material drop rate makes the required recipe equal to a fixed number of digs.
What happens when I find hidden or buried treasure?
The October 5 recording includes a buried-treasure outcome alongside fossils, empty digs and cash. Its contents and payout are not supplied. Read the result, retain useful fossil-set stock and check readiness before the Home exchange. Treasure is a recorded possibility, rather than a secret guaranteed reward for every green hit.
